Profile and Career

The MSc programme in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics is a social science programme where you study economics, the environment and natural resources in both a national and global context. The recurring theme of the programme is how we make the most of the available resources in a sustainable way.

Graduates from the programme use economic theory and methodology on, for example, the sustainable management of a country's fossil fuel energy reserves and its involvement in international environmental agreements in their work. After having graduated from the MSc programme in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics, you will — among other things — be able to:. The language of instruction is English, and the programme has an international outlook.

As an international student in Denmark, you will of course also get familiar with Danish culture and nature. Firms launch green business strategies such as investments in cleaner technologies, product labelling or socially responsible investments to improve their competiveness.

The Environmental Policy and Energy Economics Path" of the master is providing students with the analytical skills to assess, analyse and recommend economic policies and strategies to tackle environmental issues and manage natural resources. The "Economics and Ecology Path" of the master is also providing students with tools to understand how biodiversity and ecosystems are modeled and measured, how one can measure the ecological and the economic value of biodiversity and ecosystems, and how economic policy can be used to influence human behavior and its consequences on biodiversity and ecosystems.

The program emphasizes teamwork and hands-on experience with real-world case studies and datasets.
